Vision & Mission
We envision a future where every child realizes their power to shape a healthier world.
Nearly 1 in 3 U.S. adults has only basic or below basic health literacy, and eekMD is on a mission to change that. We harness children’s natural curiosity and playfulness to develop health literacy and health advocacy skills through our eekMD Mini Medical School, Mini Medical Mysteries podcast, and other programs.
The Founder
Dr. Inniss is a pediatrician and researcher with more than 10 years of expertise in creating and evaluating media and other programming for young children and teens. She especially enjoyed a brief stint as an Intern in Research & Evaluation at Sesame Workshop, and brings that same combination of playfulness and rigor to eekMD.
Dr. Inniss received her BA from Brown University, MD from University of Massachusetts Medical School, and completed her residency in Pediatrics at Tufts Children’s Hospital. She rounded out her training with an MSc in Health Services Research from the University of Michigan as a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholar.
